Project Plan for PBL

PBL is a project and so obviously as a new project manager, I need to demonstrate ability to create a project plan. A project plan takes forever and is often 20-30 pages and I’m not going to be doing that today. Instead I’ll create a simple charter. I’m not going to make it as formal as it could be but lets just see how it goes!

PBL Project Charter

By: PBL

Project Description: Pretty Business Lady (PBL) is a new blog by PBL herself. It’s a blog that is to be updated once, twice, or even thrice a week! When PBL determines that there is something important, interesting, or even inspiring, she will post it on PBL. The blog is being created in order to have a better venue to share her ideas, inspirations, and information that she comes across during her Masters studies. PBL hopes to become a positive influence on others to use blogging to share their wisdom and what they’ve learned in their programs all across the nation.

Project Manager: PBL (anonymous)

Project Manager Authority: PBL has full authority to determine how the project goes and what is used in the PBL blog. She is also responsible to calculate risks, follow copyright policies, and ensure each and every one of her sources are accurately cited.

Initial Scope: PBL will use her ability to present information from what has been learned, studied, and researched throughout her MS in Professional Studies and beyond.

Estimated Cost: 0 dollars

Preliminary Milestones:

– Choose name for blog
– Introduce writer without names
– Maintain anonymous stand for the first 100 posts
– When degree of study is complete, reveal writer.
– Determine venue of project: termination or integration

Business Case:

Our world today is changing to a never-ending degree. We are learning new things everyday and one of the best ways to take advantage of this is to post information on a blog. We often think that names and reputation of the school we go to and so forth affects rather people take your information seriously. It’s a fascinating idea but that shouldn’t be the case. If information is presented with evidence or information/references, we should take it with more than just a grain of salt. That is why this blog is being created the way it is.  As time passes, we learn more and more about what is around us and this blog also is a venue of recognizing good business or bad business. PBL is all about embracing today’s technology and using it to channel useful information in a not so unique way.

Project Deliverables:

– Creating an output or venue for information to be channeled to the public through social media
– Enable writer to remain anonymous to learn how the world looks at her work not who she is.
